This was a cute little café with a shared doorway into an antique/used furniture store.  It was so brightly decorated that I snapped a quick picture.

This is the first painting I did in a plein air class with Cathy Gibbons.  We've encountered all kinds of temperatures, wind, snow and rain.  My canvas sizes got smaller pretty quickly.

I had the opportunity to set up my easel in this wonderful backyard filled with hand carved totem poles.  This one wasn't quite done but I chose it anyways.  They were all quite amazing.

I borrowed this reference from a good friend and wish I was there in person as it looks like a lovely spot to do lots of plein air painting.  When this painting sells, my friend gets a meal on me!

Fifteen members of the KW Urban Sketchers will show their work which was created on the tenth floor of City Hall this spring.

Our sketches will also be projected onto the Cube at the top of City Hall for the month of September!

This was a lone red and white parrot tulip poking out among other plants in last year's garden.  I enjoyed painting it last week during our very prolonged winter!

While at the RBG in Burlington last spring, I took photos of peonies and other flowers.  This painting was inspired by a very large peony in the process of opening.  I didn't record the name but thought it was lovely.

The colours in this painting just kind of evolved.  I was walking through this area in the summer and the colours I saw were greens, blues and browns.

My starting point for this one was a photo reference I took at the RBG in Burlington last spring while there plein air painting in watercolours with artist friend Donna Fratesi.  I only focused on the Irises and eliminated the background trees, shrubs and people.

I started this one last summer and worked on it in stages.  Parts of it came together quickly and other parts needed more thinking and looking and decisions on what to do.  This painting was donated to the Button Factory Arts Auction 2016.
