This painting resulted in a recent trip to a local art gallery. With permission, a few painting friends and I walked the grounds until we found spots to set up our easels for the morning.  The day as hot and I packed up after 1pm.

This was a great day painting with a longtime friend at her lovely country property.  She made "Bill" to keep intruders out of her garden.

We had a warm spell in February so our painting group trouped down to the riverbank and got in some plein aire painting.  The colours that day were very muted.

This tree fort was built in a big maple tree on a farm property.  I took lots of photos that day and had a great time painting this one back home.

I painted this scene standing across the street on the sidewalk.  The neighours were very friendly and enjoyed watching some plein aire painters at work.

I painted this view looking out of a large second story window.  It was spring time and the lilacs where in bloom - hence the two purple and mauve trees.

I took liberties with the red but was thinking about Henri Matisse's painting The Red Studio.  Our painting group was talking about various artists this day and he was one of them.

I bought these sunflowers at our local market and enjoyed them for a couple days before painting them.  I hadn't painted for a couple weeks so this was a great subject to start with. The painting's title summed up my day.
